Role Overview:

We are recruiting a Molecular Biologist that works well independently and in collaboration to develop multidisciplinary projects and perform complex lab and research-related duties.

We are looking for someone who is a proactive thinker and action orientated scientist and someone who has passion and drive in this area of science.

 

Responsibilities

  • The candidate should have extensive experience in general molecular biology techniques, cell cultures, and bioactivity testing. Industry experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Other responsibilities will include project development and planning to ensure milestones and deliverables are defined, monitored and delivered on time.
  • Developing and implementing molecular and cell based assays in support of bioactive peptides produced from different food streams
  • Developing and troubleshooting various bio-assays.
  • Academic research experience highly desirable

Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates must have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Chemistry or related disciplines.
  • At least 4-5 years of previous lab experience is required.
  • 2+ years of post doc experience also essential
  • Ability to design and execute experiments independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to develop and follow detailed instructions/Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Experience in In vitro cell culture.
  • Industry experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to Interpret and analyse data.

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will be working with a team producing, purifying and characterising bioactive peptides produced from food waste streams.

Overview of the role

 We are seeking a highly-motivated Head of Biology/Pharmacology with a background in drug discovery, peptide/protein science and translational research to lead our preclinical pharmacology supporting programs in research and in clinical development stages.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, oversees and directs the overall Laboratory strategy for all Research and Development programs at Nuritas throughout the development lifecycle
  • This includes the examination of data, the creation of reports, the management of staff and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish rapid proof points in new approaches to maximise return in effort.
  • Protect confidential information and patented processes. An understanding of intellectual property and how it shapes research programs.
  • Supervise and mentor a group of creative and motivated scientists. Provide guidance as required by applicable regulations.
  • Set standards for laboratory testing and acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure these are maintained.
  • Work with the team on the design and excitation of new assays, and oversee validation of new tests and transition to clinical testing. This also includes troubleshooting experiments, coordinating and leading research project.
  • Identify and support relevant external collaborations and relationships including academic and vendors.
  • Participate in business strategic development activities including visiting and hosting clients.
  • Provides support to multidisciplinary research project teams in areas such as genomics, DNA sequence analysis, biology and pathology.

Qualifications & Experience

  • You will have a PhD in Biology or a similar discipline whilst also having solid industry experience (8+ years), ideally from a various range of companies, in order to bring new ways of thinking and best practice to Nuritas.
  • Experience leading a biology or drug discovery group in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company is essential.
  • Must have experience in strategic planning, project leadership, laboratory and budget management
  • You will have expertise in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, and pharmacology, as well a broad understanding of physiological principles of health and disease, you will be a problem solver that can understand the science but also the commercials.
  • You will shirk tradition and ask how we can do things differently, whilst having a refreshing and positive outlook with the ability to roll up your sleeves and take ownership on a daily basis.
  • Start-up experience is preferred

  • Provide the depth of scientific expertise required for the clinical design and development of peptides.
  • Design and implement preclinical and toxicology studies
  • Design and implement of trials
  • Oversee clinical operations in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines including clinical trial management (Phase I), CRO selection, monitoring, third party vendor management and filing of all essential trial specific documentation.
  • Analyse and professionally communicate preclinical and clinical results to inform development strategies.
  • Manage multiple clinical projects to GCP standards.
  • Provide oversight of all the responsibilities transferred from Client to CROs and other vendors.
  • Manage and monitor/audit CROs
  • Liaise with Commercial and other areas of the company integrating, defining and weaving clinical requirements into overall company strategy and vice versa.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Science degree
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, hands-on and willing to travel
  • Must have demonstrable experience in designing and implementing trials
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing/co-managing multi-centre  clinical trials
  • Significant experience working with and managing CROs
  • Monitoring and project management experience
  • Ability to audit and clinical trial sites
  • GCP experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • A flair for scientific writing (protocols and reports) and fully conversant with the use of EDC in clinical trials
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills

Computational Biologist/Bioinformaticians 

We are currently recruiting Computational Biologist/Bioinformaticians with an in-depth understanding of biological data and advanced experience in statistics, big data analysis (including machine learning), or other similar fields.

 

We have 3 roles to include the following responsibilities:

 

  • Integrate pathway analysis tools and machine learning techniques into existing data analysis workflows
  • Develop bioinformatics software tools, Interpreting and integrating large scale biological data
  • Build rigorous statistical models for ingredient discovery and validation workflow
  • Optimise and automate data extraction and integration
  • Propose an implement quality control and data quality monitoring procedures
  • Update job knowledge and remain current with advances in biology, computer science and bioinformatics

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.S. required (PhD preferred) in mathematics or computer science. Experience with biological data including any omics (extra degree in a biological field is appreciated).
  • 6+ years’ experience in biological software and algorithm development. Experience in artificial intelligence (including machine learning algorithms) or Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Candidates who were part of inventing/coding recognised publicly available bioinformatics or chemistry software are highly desired

Required Technical Skills

  • Algorithmic and Machine Learning techniques (examples include artificial neural networks, boosting, random forests, clustering…)
  • Programming: OOP and scripting in many languages (python is a big plus)
  • Statistics and R programming
  • An understanding of standard bioinformatics tools (protein databases, alignments…)

 

Role 1:

  • Strong background in molecular and cellular biology
  • Experienced in structural bioinformatics
  • Familiar with molecular dynamics simulations
  • Familiar with protein-protein interaction modelling and ligand-receptor interaction modelling in particular
  • Familiar with structural alignment techniques

Role 2:

  • Familiar with big biological data mining techniques
  • Experienced with high-throughput functional genomics data
  • Experienced with gene regulation mechanisms, gene expression and transcriptome data analysis
  • Experienced with high performance computing

Role 3:

  • Experienced in the analysis of complex biological systems such as molecular networks and signaling pathways
  • Experienced in the analysis of large-scale changes in cellular processes in response to external stimuli and alterations.
  • Experienced with big biological data mining
  • Familiar with standardized representations of biological data (BioPAX, SBGN)
  • Familiar with software tools to visualize and analyze biological networks
