Junior Bioinformatician

We are recruiting for a Junior bioinformatician with an understanding of biological data and experience in statistics.

 

Responsibilities to include:

• Develop bioinformatics software tools, Interpreting and integrating large scale biological data
• Optimise and automate data extraction and integration
• Propose and implement quality control and data quality monitoring procedures
• Train and update colleagues across the business functions, in many different roles (lab scientists, computer scientists, non-scientists) on Nuritas technologies
• Keep up to date on job knowledge and remain current with advances in biology, computer science and bioinformatics

 

Qualifications & Experience

• MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics or computer science
• At least one-yearexperience in biological software and algorithm development or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

 

Required Technical Skills

• Strong Programming and coding skills, proficient in Python
• knowledge of the Django framework is appreciated
• General web development skills
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments
• Statistics and R programming
• An understanding of standard bioinformatics tools (protein databases, alignments…)
• Knowledge of Relational Databases
